Huawei watches pay contactless. Curve Pay in new models
Huawei has expanded the availability of contactless payments made using the Curve Pay service to include additional smartwatch models. The function, which has been available in Poland since the end of February on the latest sports watches Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 and the Huawei Watch GT 6 series, is now also available on models from the following series: Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, Huawei Watch 5, Huawei Watch GT 5 and Huawei Watch FIT 4.
As announced by the manufacturer, the availability of contactless payments using Curve Pay will be gradually expanded to include additional Huawei watch models.
Let us remind you that Huawei watches have already offered contactless payments – using Quicko. However, this Polish fintech came under the microscope of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority, which found irregularities and revoked its license, ordering it to end its operations as a payment institution. This, in turn, left Huawei Watches without support for an important service.
What does Curve Pay give you?
Curve Pay is a payment service similar to Google Pay or Apple Pay. After adding any Visa or Mastercard card to the Curve wallet, the user can pay with an NFC-enabled device.
In addition to payments using the watch, customers using one of the compatible Huawei models gain access to new solutions inside the Curve Pay application – for example, they can manage cards there and block them immediately. Importantly, removing the watch from your wrist triggers the requirement to enter the access code.
The Curve Pay app must first be installed on your smartphone after downloading from the AppGallery, App Store, Google Play or Galaxy Store. In the next step, you need to pair it with your Huawei watch. More in the video below.
