Netflix focuses on sensation. A new version of the cult hit is coming soon

Netflix does not hide the fact that its latest series “Man on Fire” is based on the same book as the famous 2004 film with Denzel Washington. The creators emphasize that the series is not an exact remake of the 2004 film, but is an adaptation of the book “Man on Fire” and its next volume “The Perfect Kill” by AJ Quinnell. This time we will see Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the main role – as John Creasy. The same one whose adventures we recently saw in the Wonder Man series on Disney+.

This is the story of John Creasy, a former soldier and special forces mercenary. The hero tries to find the meaning of life after traumatic experiences from the past. To overcome his own demons, he sets out on a journey “towards redemption”. However, before he has to find his new life, he will find himself in the middle of hell. The trailer makes it clear that he will have to fight fiercely and with full commitment.

The cast also includes Billie Boullet, Bobby Cannavale and Alice Braga. The creator, writer and showrunner is Kylie Killen.

The series “Man on Fire” will premiere April 30, 2026 on Netflix.
