Failure in PKO BP. Account status may astound
PKO BP bank customers could experience real moments of horror today. All they had to do was log into their account and check its balance. On August 1, the bank experienced a very unusual failure.
PKO BP Bank is battling an unusual failure. Already in the morning of August 1, the bank’s customers began reporting the failure with problems regarding the view of the balance on their account. Downdetector.pl reported many such cases. Some customers had problems logging in to their account, but the vast majority rubbed their eyes in amazement – their account showed billions of złoty in the red. This is an unusual failure that served better than many an alarm clock.
Unusual failure at PKO BP
One of the users of the X service shared information about the failure in his post. It must be admitted that the post made an impression – after logging in, the iPKO service showed him the status of the company account. The bank’s client did not expect this – he was left with a loss of PLN 173.5 billion.
Legal and banking question.
PKO BP mistakenly charged me PLN 173 billion in commission tonight.
Am I entitled to statutory interest from the bank?

The outage could have affected up to 100 people. It is not known how long it will last, but you should be aware of temporary difficulties in accessing your account. The bank has of course apologized for the outage and assured that it is working to solve the problem.
Due to a technical error, the commission was incorrectly posted to the accounts of some corporate clients. We are working to resolve the issue and automatically correct the error. We apologize for the inconvenience.
