Will Google Pixel lose an exclusive feature? It is supposed to go to the Galaxy S26

The latest reports indicate that Google Pixel smartphones may lose exclusive access to a certain feature in Android. These are advanced security options that were previously only available on Google devices.

Google Pixel will lose exclusivity on security features

An informant nicknamed AssembleDebug revealed on Android Authority that the Scam Detection tool is to be added to the Samsung Galaxy S26. This feature, which protects users against unwanted calls and suspicious messages, was previously exclusive to Pixel and used Google Gemini.

AssembleDebug pointed to codenames SM‑S942, SM‑S947, and SM‑S948 found in the code of the Phone app on Android. These are the designations for the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra models, which the tipster says is proof that the Galaxy S26 family will receive Fraud Detection. He also added that the function may be active immediately after the premiere.

This is another example of the Pixel-only feature coming to other devices. This was rare in the past, but Google is increasingly expanding the availability of its solutions beyond its own line of smartphones.

Google introduced Fraud Detection on Pixels in March 2025 as part of a major update. The feature uses local Gemini models to analyze message content and conversation patterns to detect fraud attempts.

At the same time, there are reports that Samsung plans to strengthen the Bixby assistant with Perplexity technology, which the company coincidentally confirmed, while retaining Gemini as the basis of Galaxy AI. The Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in February 2026, so we should have details soon.
