Unihertz Titan 2 Elite – this is what BlackBerry would be like in 2026

If someone misses the times when the smartphone clicked under the fingers like a BlackBerry, then 2026 looks like a small return to the past. The physical QWERTY keyboard is once again becoming more than just a gadget for collectors – and it seems that brands really want to compete for fans of button typing.

Unihertz is particularly keen on this trend and has been introducing more or less faithful copies of BlackBerry phones for several years now. Already in 2019, the company showed the first Unihertz Titan model, which, apart from having a QWERTY keyboard, was also characterized by increased resistance and the IP67 standard, which was quite an achievement at that time. A few years have passed, and the manufacturer announces another model that implements this idea – Unihertz Titan 2 Elite.

The first teaser of Titan 2 Elite appeared in January, but it only ignited the imagination. Now Unihertz has opened the veil a little more: it has published a video showing the phone from new angles – sides, thickness, buttons and back. On the back you can see a camera island with two lenses and a lamp, and on the side there is a red button, but there is no explanation as to what it is for. What’s new are the revealed colors: in addition to the already known dark black version, there will also be an orange variant, similar in shade to the iPhone 17 Pro.

Unlike previous Unihertz models, the announced Titan 2 Elite has a slightly more modern silhouette. The manufacturer abandoned the clumsy casing of old BlackBerry phones in favor of a slimmer smartphone with a keyboard at the bottom. At the same time, the device is quite wide, which will certainly affect the comfort of writing. It has a screen with close to square proportions and that’s basically all that can be said about the tTitan 2 Elite at the moment. Its specifications remain a secret.

The declaration regarding software support is promising. Titan 2 Elite is to start with Android 16 and get 5 years of system updates (up to Android 20) and security patches until 2031. This is a big change in the approach of Unihertz, which was previously criticized for its modest update pace.

Finally, it is worth remembering that this is not the only novelty in this style. At the beginning of January, Clicks Communicator, a smartphone with 5G and a full QWERTY keyboard, premiered. This model is scheduled to go on sale in March 2026.
