No more ugliness and compromises – meet Huawei MateBook 14 2024

Huawei has its D series, which became the most popular in the country right after its debut on the Polish market. It also has slightly more expensive equipment, with a more refined design and components, which attracts attention not only with its functionality, but also with its business elegance worthy of the most demanding minimalist. And we're talking about the Huawei MateBook 14 series made of glass and metal, available in Poland in two variants.

A jaw-dropping OLED screen

Regardless of the selected model, Huawei has used an OLED screen with a diagonal of 14.2 inches, aspect ratio 3: 2 and a resolution of 2880 x 1920 px in its laptops. This is a spectacular matrix with 100% coverage of sRGB and DCI-P3 color gamuts, as well as 95% Adobe RGB coverage. Don't worry about brightness – that's as much as 450 nits. In turn, game fans will appreciate it refresh rate 120 Hz.

The company did not waste a single millimeter of space in the laptop lid – the screen fills as much as 91% of the available surface. Let's add that the screen has a 10-point multitouch panel, with a screenshot function with a finger gesture, as well as the ability to enter writing manually.

Slim, light, and with a capacious battery

We could only dream of such parameters in recent years, the computer has dimensions of 312.6 x 226.8 x 14.5 mm and weighs only 1.31 kg. Therefore, it will easily fit not only dedicated accessories, but also those for MacBook Air with smaller 13.6″ screens.

The capacity of the battery used is as much as 70 Whand the set includes a 65 W fast charger. On a single charge you can watch movies continuously for up to 19 hours.

Smart camera for video calling users

Thanks to the Eye Contact function based on AI technology and a FullHD camera, the computer adapts to the user's line of sight to ensure the most natural communication possible. Thanks to AI, the quality of the image itself is also improved so that it is sharp and clear even in difficult back lighting. In turn, Personal Voice Enhancement technology mutes ambient noise so that we are perfectly understandable to our interlocutors, even when we are not using headphones.

Connectivity – it is possible to push HDMI into an ultrabook, learn from Apple

Two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 connectors, one USB-C connector, a full-size HDMI output (a rarity in this segment), and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. There is also Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac/ax with a bandwidth of 160 MHz and Bluetooth 5.2.

The useful additions worth mentioning include a multi-touch trackpad, 2 microphones, stereo speakers and a computer switch with integrated fingerprint reader.

Price? Surprisingly affordable

The simpler of computers, with a black casing (that's what Huawei calls it, in my opinion it's more like graphite) is armed with a processor Intel Core Ultra 5 125H16 GB RAM and disk SSD 512 GB. Its promotional price until the end of June is: only PLN 3,999. And in addition to a PLN 500 discount on both computers, there is also free one-year Microsoft 365 Family package.

The green variant of Huawei MateBook 14 2024 has all the functions of the black one, plus a more powerful processor Intel Core Ultra 7 155Halso 16 GB of dual-channel RAM, and a larger disk 1TB SSD.
