As is usually the case with this type of films, not everyone will like it, but one thing is certain – there is a large group of viewers for whom the thriller absorbs, provides strong emotions and makes “some people pick their jaws off the floor”. Poles became interested in the production so quickly that it overtook other films in the ranking, such as “The Swedish Connection”.

“Stop the Fire” is where the plot matters

The film, directed by David Victori, takes viewers to a summer house in Spain. This is where Mara (Belen Cuesta), the main character of the film, went with her 8-year-old daughter Lide and her family. She needed this trip to face the trauma of her husband’s death. Unfortunately, after one of the arguments, Mary’s daughter unexpectedly disappears in the forest. At the same time, a dangerous fire breaks out nearby and spreads quite quickly around the area. All this makes the whole situation tense to the extreme. Despite the circumstances, the mother does not give up and tries to find her daughter on her own. During the search, demons from the past awaken and family secrets are revealed.

The film sparked a heated discussion in the media, which is still ongoing. Is it really so unique and worthy of such success? It got a rating of 5.7/10 on IMDB. Some viewers are delighted with the atmosphere of horror and tension created on the screen, while others find the film somewhat boring, irritating and even “the worst they have ever seen”. One thing is certain – if you don’t have anything planned, it’s worth treating yourself to a horror movie this weekend.
