Google launches a new 4K image generator. See if you already have it
Nano Banana 2 is also known as Gemini 3.1 Flash Image. The new product is a continuation of the first Nano Banana model (i.e. Gemini 2.5 Flash Image) from August and Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image) from November.
Google praises that the improved Nano Banana 2 model copes much better with complex, multi-layered user prompts, while maintaining all the nuances of the query.
The latest version of the generator gives us a choice of different image styles right from the beginning – for example, monochrome, steampunk, film, surrealist or painterly.
The new generator uses information and images from the network in real time, which translates directly into higher precision and realism of the generated graphics. The most important change is to increase the maximum resolution of created images from 2K to 4K format, while maintaining the current high speed.
For projects requiring minimal delays and fast operations, a new variant with a resolution of 512px has been made available. Google has also expanded support for unusual native aspect ratios, adding 4:1, 1:4, 8:1 and 1:8 formats to its portfolio.
Nano Banana 2: text will finally be readable
Nano Banana 2 also eliminates frequent problems with generating unreadable clusters of letters and allows for precise rendering of clear inscriptions. The model has also gained the ability to directly translate text in the images themselves into various languages, which will significantly facilitate the work on localizing various content.
Additionally, Google’s artificial intelligence can now maintain visual consistency for up to five characters appearing in different graphics. Additionally, the tool allows you to combine up to 14 selected objects from the input images into one final output file.
Nano Banana 2 replaces the older generation in services such as Gemini, Google Search, Google Ads, Google AI Studio and the creative Flow tool. Developers can now integrate the new feature in their applications.
