A third option, a driving license, has been added to the recently made available options for blocking an ID card or passport in the mObywatel application. Now the app user will reserve them on their phone in a few seconds. This is the fastest way to protect your data and documents in the event of loss or theft.
New section Reserve document
Recently, a new function has been introduced in the mObywatel application, which allows you to conveniently reserve various documents directly on your phone. Initially, this tool covered the user’s ID card, the ID card of the child or ward, as well as the passport. Now these documents are accompanied by a driving license.
This solution works similarly to the Reserve PESEL service and provides effective protection of your data against unauthorized use. The whole process takes only a few seconds, and if necessary, you can withdraw the disclaimer at any time – thanks to this, you retain full control over your document
To use the new option, update the application to the latest version and then find your driving license in the Reserve document service. Any logged-in, adult user who has the mID in the application can use the option to reserve a driving license.
If lost, reserve your document in the application
As the Ministry of Digitization argues, blocking a lost or stolen document is the simplest and fastest way to protect yourself, your finances and data. mObywatel allows you to perform such an operation directly on your phone.
Reporting the reservation of documents in the application goes to the Restricted Documents system run by the Polish Bank Association, which is used by banks, companies and institutions throughout the country. Additionally, in the Reserve document service you can check how many banks have blocked the document.
In the application, you can also withdraw your objection to the document at any time, provided that it has been reported in mObywatel.
