A treat for horror fans. The legend is about to return

It looks like that the next game in the Resident Evil series – in a long tradition remakes – will be Resident Evil: Code Veronica. This title was Dreamcast’s showcase and really a true sequel to Resident Evil 2which, for strange image and marketing reasons, did not receive a number in the title (a Resident Evil 3 was supposed to be a de facto side project).

Already in December 2025 a well-known and reliable Capcom game leaker – Dusk Golem – revealed that the next rims in the queue are Code Veronica and Resident Evil Zeroplanned accordingly for 2027 and 2028 year. IN January 2026 the same informant added that first official announcement we can expect the Code Veronica remake this year.

And now another renowned insider has added to these reports – Nate the Hate. He confirmed on X: “yes, Code Veronica will get a remake and is in an advanced stage of production with a release date in the first half of 2027.”

This means that After Requiem, fans of the series will not have to wait long for the next installment. The glow of Code Veronica it has faded a lot with the passing years, but it’s nice that Capcom hasn’t forgotten about the game.
