The taxman goes hunting. It targets a specific group

The National Tax Administration has issued a new tax interpretation. This will affect a specific professional group that must take into account tax audits.

A certain professional group will not like the new tax interpretation of the National Tax Administration. We are talking about streamers who will not be able to benefit from preferential conditions. According to the new regulations, they will pay more taxes than before, reports Dziennik.pl.

The taxman attacks streamers

One of the streamers’ sources of income are the so-called donejty, i.e. voluntary donations from viewers. So far, streamers have not paid donation taxes unless one person has transferred an amount greater than PLN 5,733 within 5 years. Now that’s changing. This means that streamers will pay more taxes, and if they defend themselves against it, the tax office may launch audits.

According to the new tax interpretation of the National Tax Administration, every donation from viewers, even the smallest one, is subject to tax. Even just one zloty will be recognized as income from business or personal activity, and not as a donation. This means you have to pay a tax of 12%. up to PLN 120,000 PLN or 32 percent from the surplus in the case of a flat tax. If the streamer chose a lump sum, he or she will pay 15 or 8.5 percent.

The new interpretation will hit streamers hard, for whom donations are one of the main sources of income. In addition, online creators also earn money from subscriptions, e.g. to Twitch, displayed advertisements, and sponsorship agreements with brands.
