The most advanced technology at increasingly lower prices

MicroLED is a great self-emissive technology that combines the best features of OLED and traditional lighting modules, providing very high brightness, excellent contrast and screen durability.

So far, microLED was available in a very large format – TVs from 89 to 163 inches, and this pleasure was extremely expensive – the first models cost 150 thousand dollars (Samsung The Wall in 2021), and in the case of TCL – 110 thousand hole. for the 163-inch model released in 2024. In turn, in 2025 Hisense released the 136-inch model for 100 thousand hole.

It would seem that this barrier of $100,000 would be difficult to lower. However, TCL has now surprised everyone by releasing two new microLED models – Max163M and Max163M Pro – both with a 163-inch screen diagonal. Their price is accordingly 36.5 thousand hole. and 51 thousand hole.

Thus, the price of the Max163M microLED TV from TCL is 70% lower since their first TV of this type in 2024. It is still a very expensive product, but at the same time it signals huge discount and is a harbinger of the fact that we are one step away from introducing it to showrooms.

The TCL Max163M now costs as much as high-end home theater projectors from Sony and JVC. The TV stands out 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space and up to 10,000 cd/m2 brightnessand at the same time provides two additional things that projectors cannot provide at a high level – HDR and high contrast.

The Max163M Pro model, on the other hand, adds support 4K 120Hz and brightness level exceeding 10,000 cd/m2.

Finally, it is worth distinguishing that with the constantly changing nomenclature of TV names, microLED is not microRGB, because the latter technology is LCD TVs that now have an LED backlight mechanism with real RGB.

MicroLED, on the other hand, has nothing to do with LCD – it is simply separate self-emissive image technology (i.e. the rival of OLED), in which the image consists of 28.88 million microscopic LED sub-pixels in red, green and blue colors.
