They faint, but they watch. Nobody expected such a hit
The long-awaited horror classic “Terrifier 3” has just hit Polish cinemas. The very fact that this is the third film in this series proves that this film genre is doing great.
Terrifier 3 was hailed as the bloodiest film of the year. It barely hit the big screen and already became a box office hit. The horror film appeared in cinemas on October 11 and, just like in the USA, it is one of the most watched productions. Last weekend, the adventures of the bloodthirsty clown Art were watched by approximately 140,000 Polish viewers. The film has been available for ages 15 and over.
The most interesting fact is that this horror left far behind the film about another eccentric clown – we are talking about the famous film Joker: Folie a deux. Nobody expected this. Meanwhile, the low-budget production Terrifier 3 has already earned PLN 18 million.
Plot? It’s not about the plot, but about the mood of horror. Apparently, not much is happening. A murderous clown attacks innocent victims in the sleepy town of Miles County. And all this with a festive atmosphere in the background.
The film is breaking viewing records all over the world, not only in Poland. Each session brings some sensations, most often health-related ones. In Great Britain, as many as 10 people couldn’t stand it and left the cinema after the first minutes. This is not surprising – this is not a show for everyone. One person had a panic attack and another vomited. There have also been cases of fainting reported in Australia. Interestingly, the lead actor, David Howard Thornton, revealed in one of the interviews that he himself felt nauseous while filming some scenes.
Perfect for Halloween?
Terrifier 3 this is proof that in our pop culture the clown is associated with the species’ greatest nightmare. However, if you don’t feel like watching this type of screenings, it’s better to choose another Halloween-themed movie – Beetlejuice Beetlejuice , which is a sequel to the cult “Beetlejuice” from the 1980s.
