The Polish manufacturer of SSD and RAM modules is not slowing down. The gaming brand IRDM has new, efficient media for handhelds.

Market portable game consoles is alive like never before. Consumers can choose from, among others: Nintendo Switch, Valve Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, MSI Claw and a lot of less known in the West, typically Chinese offers from GPD, ONEXFLY, AYANEO and others.

IRDM Pro Nano offers top performance up to 7300 MB/s

However, no matter what equipment you choose, the rule is simple – larger models are always more expensive than the basic variant replacing memory on your own. And since most consoles support it SSD it's extremely simple. That is why Polish producer decided to expand its portfolio.

IRDM Pro Nano is a new series of semiconductor media in the format M.2 2230 aimed at gamers. What we're dealing with here is an interface PCI Express 4.0 x4. Unfortunately, the Poles do not reveal details about the specifications – only the bones 3D NAND. But their manufacturer or the controller used remains a mystery.

There are three different capacities to choose from – 512 GB and 1 and 2 TB. Their specifications are as follows:

  • IRDM Pro Nano 512GB – up to 5100 MB/s for reading and up to 4600 MB/s for sequential writing, up to 780,000 IOPS for reading and up to 920,000 IOPS for random writing;
  • IRDM Pro Nano 1TB – up to 7300 MB/s for reading and up to 6000 MB/s for sequential writing, up to 750,000 IOPS for reading and up to 850,000 IOPS for random writing;
  • IRDM Pro Nano 2TB – up to 7300 MB/s for reading and up to 6000 MB/s for sequential writing, up to 750,000 IOPS for reading and up to 850,000 IOPS for random writing;

The SSDs described have already been available in Polish stores. Suggested prices are set at 249, 419 and 809 PLN. The manufacturer provides 5 years warranty limited by the saved data limit, which is 300, 600 and 1200 TBW.
