Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are now available for pre-order on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2
These two classics are now available for pre-order on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, all in celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary. Both games were priced at PLN 89.80 and are available only in a digital version. According to the data provided by the publisher, they will take up 40 MB in the console’s memory, which is really not much. However, this is because there is no significant interference in the operation of the game.
Of course, the price is prohibitive for a rather lazy emulation of a 22-year-old game. However, there will definitely be people who will be happy to reach for their wallet and buy this classic. I already have it on my wish list. On the other hand, it’s the cheapest way to get the original game. The versions used on the GBA are either fakes, cost a small fortune, or are knockoffs that someone is trying to sell for a small fortune. Therefore, for people who would like to play the title legally or make up for youthful piracy, this is the best option.
In the case of ports of the original Game Boy games, i.e. Pokemon Red and Blue, we had the opportunity to transfer the creatures we had caught to newer games via Pokemon Bank. Here, however, we can count on transferring creatures to Pokemon Home. Additionally, local fights and exchanges are to be available on the Switch’s local network. So it’s possible that Generation 3 will return to tournaments again.
