ING Bank Śląski przeprasza za awarię. Co z pieniędzmi klientów?

ING Bank Śląski apologizes for the failure. What about customers’ money?

On June 26, ING Bank Śląski experienced a major failure of its IT systems. A significant part of the services was unavailable to the bank’s customers. We asked the bank for explanations.

The failure started around 2:27 p.m. and lasted until late at night

According to Internet users’ reports, difficulties affected virtually all services, from access to the application and website, through e-kantor, to card payments and ATMs. However, from the answers to Telepolis’ questions we learn that the scope of difficulties was different, slightly smaller. It is possible that the ongoing failure was compounded by individual customer events that made the situation more dramatic.

On Wednesday, June 26, from the afternoon until late at night, we struggled with technical problems. It was difficult to use some card functions, make foreign transfers, use e-kantor and open accounts. There were also difficulties when using cash deposit machines. At this point, all functions are working properly (…)

We apologise for any inconvenience.

– the press office of ING Bank Śląski informs the editorial office of TELEPOLIS.PL.

Even though the cards might not have worked, BLIK did

As the bank assures, despite the institution’s failure managed to maintain the continuity of operation of online banking and the mobile application. So when the card didn’t want to work, you could still use Blik, its codes worked properly:

During the failure, online banking and the Moje ING and ING Business mobile applications were fully available. It was also possible to pay and withdraw money using BLIK codes.

– adds the press office of ING Bank Śląski.

Unfortunately the bank did not answer our question about the cause of the difficulties, however, the lack of communication in this matter is often dictated by security reasons. And when it comes to safety, in the event of this type of incident, we always ask: whether customer data is safe. Here the bank did not answer the question directly, but assured the safety of the collected funds:

Customers’ money was and is safe.

– assures ING Bank Śląski.
