Huawei with a new super watch. This is WATCH GT Runner 2

The new GT Runner 2 is the second version of the runner’s watch from 2021. After five years, the manufacturer has significantly refreshed the structure and equipment, and the debuting model may be a serious one competition for Garmin or Polar watches.

The watch will be available in three colors: Midnight Black (black titanium case + black AirDry strap), Dawn Orange (white titanium case + orange AirDry strap) and Dusk Blue (black titanium case + blue AirDry strap). Each set also comes with an additional fluoroelastomer strap in a matching color. The AirDry Woven Strap has an openwork structure that ensures 25% better breathability than earlier variants

Huawei WATCH GT Runner 2 will be equipped with dual-band GNSS module supporting GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU and QZSS systems. According to the manufacturer, the GNSS antenna is amplified by special construction of the middle frame and bezeland the whole thing uses circular polarization, thanks to which the receiver catches the satellite signal better. According to Huawei, this architecture translates into increase in antenna efficiency by 50% compared to the GT 6 series. For runners, this means greater measurement precision in tunnels or between skyscrapers.

The watch uses the Huawei TruSense system with a modernized algorithm architecture and the TruSense module. Health metrics monitored include continuous heart rate measurement and resting heart rate, continuous HRV. continuous SpO2, ECG and arrhythmia detection. The watch also measures sleep health and breathing while you sleep.

The 540 mAh battery is enough for… up to 32 hours of running activity (GPS mode) or up to 14 days of lighter use.

For the first time in its Huawei watches introduces the measurement of running powera function developed in cooperation with the DSM-Firmenich Running Team. Unlike heart rate, running power measures absolute efforttaking into account air resistance, running resistance and hill resistance. The values ​​are displayed in real time directly on the watch face.

In addition, the watch is the first in Huawei’s offer real-time lactate threshold detection algorithmdeveloped in cooperation with Beijing Sport University. GT Runner 2 also introduces optimal training load zones, distinguishing between aerobic (aerobic) and anaerobic (anaerobic) exercise.

This is also a new feature dynamic regeneration timeadapted, among others, to the user’s sleep and stress data.

Watch and app they support the full marathon cycle – before the start, during the race and after finishing. Before the start, the running assistant allows you to search and add competitions (e.g. marathons in Barcelona or Berlin), countdown to the start with display on the dial, and predict the completion time. The watch stores up to 12 gears simultaneously.

While running, the user can use the intelligent marathon mode, which guides you by pace or heart rate, displays deviations from the planand also reminds about hydration and nutrition. After the run, the application will include an extensive analysis with data such as pace curve, heart rate curve, power curves, oxygen and cadence data, as well as data on ground contact time, left/right foot balance and estimated VO2max time.
