Honor fits a 5,500 mAh battery in a 6 mm housing

The new model weighs only 155 grams. Its thickness is only 6.1 mm, which is rare in the flagship segment. The frame of the device is made of aircraft aluminum with a strength of 530 MPa. The design boasts IP68 and IP69 certificates, so it is resistant to dust and strong water jets.

The back of the phone is covered with a coating applied in a seven-stage baking process. This gives a metallic matte effect, similar to varnishes used in expensive cars. The smartphone is available in purple, orange, white and black colors. The equipment supports the eSIM standard and quick switching between cards.

The OLED display has a diagonal of 6.31 inches and a resolution of 1.5K. The frames around it are very narrow, only 1.08mm on each side. The panel supports LTPO refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz and HDR10+ technology. Peak brightness in HDR mode reaches 6,000 nits.

The manufacturer used the Honor Oasis eye protection system with ten different functions. There is an ultrasonic 3D fingerprint reader under the screen. Giant Rhino Glass is responsible for the safety of the display. The phone also has stereo speakers and a USB-C port.

Inside there is a MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip made in the 3 nm process. Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 is responsible for the graphics. Customers can choose a version with 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Mass storage is fast UFS 4.0 bones with capacities from 256 GB to 1 TB.

The device is powered by a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 5500 mAh. With a housing thickness of 6.1 mm, the energy density is 917 Wh/L. The smartphone can be charged wired with a power of 80 W or wirelessly with a power of 50 W. The system is Magic UI 10.0 based on Android 16.

The main camera with a resolution of 50 Mpix has a 1/1.3-inch matrix and f/1.6 aperture with CIPA 5.0 stabilization. Next to it there is a 50 Mpix wide-angle camera with a 112-degree viewing angle. The set is completed with a 64 Mpix periscope telephoto lens. It offers 3.2x optical zoom and 100x digital zoom.

An interesting feature is the first AI matrix flash in the Android world. It consists of five elements and illuminates the frame according to the set portrait focal length. The front camera is 50 Mpix and records video in 4K at 60 frames per second. The smartphone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and advanced GPS and BeiDou navigation.

Honor Magic8 Pro Air will go on sale in China on January 23, 2026. The device is available in several memory variants. Prices in the Middle Kingdom look like this:
