Google will pimp up your old TV. And for pennies, too
Google TV Streamer (4K) has been officially unveiled. The new device replaces Chromecast, which was launched a few years ago.
According to rumors, Google has unveiled the successor to Chromecast. The new device has been named Google TV Streamer (4K) and is already available for pre-order. At a relatively attractive price, it could be an interesting alternative for people who have a TV with an outdated or no Smart TV system.

Google TV Streamer (4K) it no longer comes in the form of a dongle that plugs directly into the HDMI port. Now it’s a small attachment that’s meant to stand next to or be hidden behind the TV. It’s available in two colors: Hazel and Porcelain. The first one is only available in the official Google store.
The device is equipped with the Google TV system, which replaced Android TV. This allows you to install a lot of applications. It supports 4K resolution (up to 60 fps), HDR10 +, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It has 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of built-in memory and an Ethernet connectorwhich in many situations will be a better solution than a wireless connection. Of course, WiFi is also available, along with Bluetooth 5.1.
Google TV Streamer (4K) also has USB-C and HDMI 2.1 ports. The price is $99.99, so it is twice as high as Chromecast. Despite this, it still seems attractive, considering the capabilities of the device. The official premiere is scheduled for September 24, but the equipment can already be ordered in the official Google store.
