When will we buy new Intel desktop processors? There is an answer
When will Intel's new Arrow Lake desktop processors hit stores? The latest rumors reveal the month in which this will happen.
At Computex 2024, Intel presented a new series of processors, but these were mobile (laptop) and server systems. Meanwhile, many users are most interested in desktop designs from the Arrow Lake series. When will they hit store shelves?
Premiere of Intel Arrow Lake processors
So far, we knew that the new Arrow Lake series processors would debut this year, but there was no more specific time frame. Meanwhile, the latest rumors suggest that the systems will be available in stores in October, i.e. in just 4 months. This is an extremely important premiere for the Blues, because it introduces several important changes.
What will change? First of all, the names. New processors include, for example, Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. In addition, the systems will be devoid of Hyper-Threading technology, which means that they will support as many threads as they have cores. They will also only support DDR5 memory, so DDR4 is finally becoming a thing of the past.
In addition, they will use the new Lione Cove-P cores, which are expected to bring about a 14 percent IPC increase, and Skymont-E, which are expected to be as much as 68 percent. more efficient than the previous generation. At the same time, the CPUs are to be noticeably cooler than the 14th generation Core, although this is to be achieved mainly due to lower clock speeds, e.g. the most powerful Core Ultra 9 285K model is to reach up to 5.5 GHz, where the Core i9-14900K reached up to 6.0 GHz .
However, it is worth adding that this is a store premiere. The presentation of the new systems is scheduled to take place at the end of September.
