Different than all of them. The new Marvel series will soon appear on Disney+

Disney+ decided to start the new year with a strong series about Superheroes. “Wonder Man” will debut on the platform on January 28and viewers will get a complete set of eight episodes in one go. They are expected to last from 20 to 40 minutes, so everything indicates that we will be presented with a rather concise story. And that’s a good thing, it’s a welcome breath of fresh air in the somewhat tired Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series.

The trailer posted online allows you to feel the atmosphere of the whole thing. Marvel would obviously like to convince us that this time it’s not just about saving the world. In the latest story, the creators balance between the world of show business and the superhero realities.

Is “Wonder Man” a breath of fresh air?

It will certainly give us many reasons to smile. “Wonder Man” is a series inspired by the character of Simon Williams, known to fans from the comics. He is a superhero who functions somewhat on the sidelines in the Marvel universe. Although he is ambitious, he cannot break through as an actor. Until he finally meets his former colleague and learns that the famous director Von Kovak intends to shoot a remake of the film “Wonder Man”. This way, viewers will get a chance to look a little deeper into the behind-the-scenes of the film industry.

The main role will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, whom a seasoned viewer may associate with “Watchmen” and “The Matrix Resurrection”. The trailer gives us a clear signal that it’s not all about the action itself – “Wonder Man” is a slightly more ironic look at the entire world related to superheroes. And this is the biggest advantage of this production.

The main character will be accompanied by, among others: Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery (known as the Mandarin from Iron Man 3). The series will also feature Ed Harris as Wonder Man’s agent and Demetrius Grosse as Grim Rapper.
