AMD Zen 6 delayed. You have to have a lot of patience
Only yesterday we learned the first details about AMD Olympic Ridge, i.e. processors for consumer desktop computers. We are talking about the next generation, which is to use the AMD Zen 6 architecture, fit into current AM5 socket motherboards and will probably be called Ryzen 10000.
AMD Zen 6 will first appear in the Venice server series
Unfortunately, the latest news from the Chinese part of the Internet reveal that the Reds want to delay the premiere. Initial plans assumed a debut at the end of 2026, so as to be able to compete with Intel Nova Lake. Currently, everything indicates that new CPUs will appear only in 2027. It is worth emphasizing that we are talking about a proven source of information.
The reason for this decision was not revealed. However, it should be assumed that this is a crisis on the PC market. Due to the artificial intelligence craze, RAM modules and semiconductor media, as well as graphics cards, are very expensive. As a result, many consumers are putting off plans to build a new computer or upgrade an old one.
So what do we know about AMD Olympic Ridge so far? Few. The main computing part will be made in 2 nm class lithography from TSMC. The flagship processor is to offer 24 cores (12 per CCD chip). You can also expect improved IPC, a better memory controller and further improvements to the 3D V-Cache technology in gaming models.
