The Taiwanese’s previous lithography technologies, such as 3nm and 5nm, were in huge demand. However, everything indicates that the 2 nm process has a chance even greater success. TSMC confirms that the first mass-scale systems will appear already in 2025. All giants are interested in him, including Apple and NVIDIA.
The latest update on the Taiwanese giant’s website reveals that the first customers have already finished designing their IP in 2nm and have started the verification and testing phase. As usual, the new lithography is expected to first hit next year’s Macs, iPads and iPhones – including the chip Apple M5.
In the case of computers and servers, we talk about Intel and its processor series Nova Lake and NVIDIA and AI accelerators preceding the series Ruby. However, none of the companies officially confirms this. Of course, we cannot forget about AMDalthough the Reds usually implement new products later and on a smaller scale.
Experts say that once 2nm lithography officially enters the market TSMC will see significant revenue growth. The reason will be not only popularity, but also a higher price than in the case of the premiere of its predecessors.
