A powerful ball of fire over the German sky. Almost like the Tunguska disaster
Yesterday, on March 8, a meteor entered the Earth’s atmosphere and, under the influence of powerful forces, exploded over western Germany. The massive fireball was seen even from neighboring countries. Moreover, some of the object’s fragments reached the Earth’s surface as meteorites. There was also damage to several roofs, but fortunately no one was hurt during the incident. Currently, not much is known about the facility itself. It could have had a diameter of several dozen centimeters to several meters, i.e. fragments that survived the journey and reached the Earth’s surface.
Interestingly, a similar event over this area also occurred in 2024. Of course, this is just a coincidence. There is nothing in West Germany that would attract exploding space objects.
However, this incident shows that the Earth is in real danger and we never know whether something much larger will be in our atmosphere and we won’t even detect it before it is too late.
