MacBook Neo officially. Apple laptop for PLN 2,999

MacBook Neo is the latest computer from Apple. It is the same for the series as the basic iPad is for tablets or the iPhone 17e for smartphones: a cheap representative of its equipment category. Cheap doesn’t mean bad. In some respects, it will be a much better choice than MacBook Air or even Pro.

Its biggest distinguishing feature is, of course, the use of the Apple A18 Pro processor, known, for example, from the iPhone 16 Pro. And although a smartphone processor in a laptop doesn’t sound very good, we don’t have any reason to worry here. After all, MacOS is a very mature system tailored for ARM processors, and the Apple A18 Pro is one of the most efficient systems on the market, offering 2 efficient cores and four energy-saving cores. The 5-core GPU is responsible for graphics processing. Performance is expected to be similar to Apple M1.

When it comes to memory, we have 8 GB RAM available. It’s not much, but it should be enough for basic office work or simple graphics processing. Editing Full HD videos should also be pleasant. When it comes to memory, we have two variants: 256 GB for the title PLN 2,999, and 512 GB for PLN 3,499. It is worth adding that only the latter has Touch ID on the keyboard.

However, the screen is extremely attractive. It is a 13-inch Liquid Retina panel with a resolution of 2408 × 1506 pixels, sRGB coverage, and 500 nits brightness. At a price of up to PLN 3,000, it is the best laptop screen on the market.

The design doesn’t disappoint either. The laptop is made of aluminum. We can choose from a wide range of colors, including silver, indigo, delicate pink and citrus yellow, which looks phenomenal. The manufacturer has equipped it with two USB-C connectors, both of which can charge the laptop, and one offers a Display Port output. On the other side there is a 3.5 mm jack. Unfortunately, there was no MagSafe for charging. However, you have to look at it through the prism of its low price.

As for the battery, it is expected to offer up to 16 hours of watching movies or up to 11 hours of browsing the Internet. So it is weaker than in MacBook Air, but still very good and you can count on it for a full day of work. Especially since it is encouraged by its small dimensions of 1.27 × 29.75 × 20.64 cm, which is slightly smaller than MacBook Air and weighs 1.23 kg.
