Scandal and suspended premiere. Apple TV will air the series next week

Apple TV has completely withdrawn any information regarding “The Hunt” from its schedule and from its website with press releases about the latest series. The trailer also disappeared then. The station had a reason for this – there was a serious accusation of plagiarism. Initially, “The Hunt” was presented as an original work. The series’ producer, Gaumont, confirmed shortly after the scandal broke that the series was in fact based on Douglas Fairbairn’s novel “Shoot”. The company started operating immediately and obtained all required approvals in a relatively short time. All procedures took less than 3 months and now that the case has been closed, a new release date has been announced.

The French series “The Hunt” will appear on Apple TV on March 4, 2026. It tells the story of Franck (Benoit Magimel), who, together with a group of friends, goes hunting during one weekend. However, the situation gets out of control when an unknown group of other hunters starts shooting at them. Even after returning to everyday life, not everything is as it was before the hunt. And although Franc tries to return to a quiet life with his wife (Melanie Laurent), he feels that something is wrong. The alien hunters are clearly looking for revenge.

The series is an interesting production about hunters, maintained in the convention of survival-paranoia. The director is Cedrick Anger. The first season consists of six episodes.
