Something’s about to change in Google News. But let’s not get too irritated

Google News – faster link copying

Google News already gives us some sort of advantage when it comes to… link handling. For example, we can view the URL embedded in a received message. This is a very valuable feature that can, in many cases, protect us against unwanted scams. But it is no secret that when it comes to copying links, there is still room for improvement for Google. The copying we have now forces the user to copy the entire message and then manually cut the link.

As you can guess, not all users are delighted with such a complicated operation and are hoping for changes in this matter. Google may introduce just this type soon amendments. Not only will it speed up copying links, but it will also help you customize sending smart replies.

Androidauthority found out that Google is working on adding a new option that allows you to copy just the link embedded in the message.

Just hold down the message bubble a little longer and two separate options will appear in the menu: “Copy” and “Copy URL”. This second option will allow you to copy only the link, not the entire message.

What’s worth keeping in mind is that this option only works for messages with one link in the content. If the message contains more URL addresses, the “Copy URL” option will simply not be displayed.

Smart Answers – improvements on the way

Currently, this type of reply (“Smart Replay”) displays just above the compose message box in chat. These are the answers that artificial intelligence generates for us. If we click on them, they are automatically sent to us, which, however, not everyone likes. Google is working to make this sending optional. The user will be able to decide whether they should be sent immediately or only after editing them. For now, this feature cannot be tested yet, but it is known that it is planned.
