The new Apple TV will offer a technological leap. Apple is making big changes
Bloomberg reports that Apple will soon release a new version of Apple TV. It will be significantly different from previous models in one key respect.

Apple TV with its own connectivity system
The new version of the Apple TV multimedia set-top box is expected to appear in 2025 and be equipped with an Apple-produced system – for the first time in this series of devices. This is a “Proxima” chip that integrates WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity – it is intended to replace analogous Broadcom chips in these and other Apple devices in the future. In addition to Apple TV, it is expected to appear in the HomePod smart mini-speaker, as well as in new iPhones in 2025, and in iPads and Mac computers by 2026.
The introduction of the Proxima chip is to be part of Apple’s new homeOS strategy, the main advantage of which is to be better cooperation with other Apple smart home devices, which are also expected to appear in 2025 as part of the homeOS ecosystem.
It is worth emphasizing that the 3rd generation Apple TV 4K suffered from serious problems related to Bluetooth connectivity, which negatively affected cooperation with remote controls and controllers, and only the tvOS 16.3.3 update resolved the situation, although the BT range in this Apple TV model is smaller than in previous models.
What should you expect from the next-generation Apple TV? Bloomberg reports that the device will support WiFi 6E – while the 3rd generation supported WiFi 6, and the latest WiFi version is 7.
In addition, the new Apple TV will have a faster processor, the same dimensions and design, and will also offer 4K and will not be focused on any 8K features. It is worth noting, however, that Bloomberg’s reports on Apple TV have been untrue in the past.
