PNY showed a portable SSD for working in difficult conditions
Competition in the portable and high-performance SSD market is growing. PNY has prepared a new model equipped with a durable casing.
PNY is an American manufacturer of computer equipment present on the market since 1985. It specializes in NVIDIA GeForce series graphics cards, USB flash drives, semiconductor media, memory cards and server solutions. It is also an OEM manufacturer for other companies.
PNY RP60 offers performance up to 2000 MB/s
Today, the Americans announced the expansion of their portfolio by: portable SSD. We are talking about compact but durable equipment offering high performance at an affordable price.
PNY RP60 These are media with dimensions of 100 x 60 x 12 millimeters and a weight of 100 grams. The rubberized casing is fully dustproof and resistant to water jets, which is confirmed IP65 certified. We get a secured connector USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type C and a special hole allowing you to attach the SSD to a backpack, bag, belt, etc.
We are dealing here with unspecified memory bones 3D TLC NAND, but the manufacturer does not reveal the controller used. However, we are talking about the declared efficiency up to 2000 MB/s for reading and up to 1800 MB/s for sequential writing, which are quite high values for this interface.
PNY RP60 media support both Windows, MacOS and Linux operating systems. Two models will be available for sale, with a capacity of 1 and 2 TB. Suggested prices are $99.99 and $179.99, i.e approximately PLN 395 and PLN 709. It may be a bit more expensive in Poland. The manufacturer provides a 3-year warranty.
