Intel planuje milionowe inwestycje w fabryki. Nie w Polsce

Intel plans to invest millions in factories. Not in Poland

Even though the Blues have limited almost all investments in Europe and laid off over 1,000 employees, it doesn’t mean they don’t have money.

Intel is a real giant in the world of new technologies. And although the American company is mainly known for its processors for desktop computers, laptops and servers, it also does a number of other things. The speech includes: about semiconductor production, where he fights against Samsung and TSMC.

The Chinese market generates as much as 27% of Intel’s revenues

The Blues were planning huge investments in Europe, also in… plants in Poland and Germany. However, they were put on hold due to financial problemsthere was also a wave of layoffs. However, it doesn’t seem to bother us spending millions of dollars in China.

As reported by TrendForce, Intel plans to expand its plant in Chengdu (China), which will cost $300 million (equivalent to approximately PLN 1.2 billion). This was announced by the local Reform and Development Commission on the Chinese social media platform WeChat.

The described factory was announced in August 2003, construction began in 2004, and the initial launch took place at the end of 2005. Full operational functionality was achieved in 2007. We are talking about a center dealing with packaging (i.e. assembling silicon systems) and testing them.

Why the decision to invest in the Middle Kingdom, despite the growing tension between the US and China? The reason is simple – money. China remains Intel’s largest market. Last year they generated as much as 27% of total revenues. Additionally, the mentioned plant is responsible for more than half of laptop chips.

The announced investment in Chengdu is expected to increase opportunities in both the mobile device market and the server segment. It will also improve the supply chain and support for Chinese customers.
