These versions of Windows went to the trash. Be sure to update

Microsoft reminds that some versions of Windows are no longer supported. It is worth updating as soon as possible.

If you are using Windows 11, you better check what exact version is on your computer. Some are no longer supported, which means they will no longer receive any updates, including the most important security ones.

End of support for Windows 11

Support for some versions of Windows 11 ended on October 8, 2022. This applies to Windows 11 22H2 in the Home, Pro, Education, Pro for Workstation and SE versions. All of these releases debuted in September 2022, so they are no longer supported after more than two years.

The October 2024 Security Update is the last update available for these versions. After today (October 8), devices running these versions will no longer receive monthly security updates and previews that include protection against the latest security threats.

– Microsoft wrote in its announcement.

What does this mean for users? First of all, their computers can be a ticking time bomb. Lack of security patches will translate into a much greater threat to our data. However, there is no reason to worry. If you have Windows 11 22H2, you are not left out in the cold. In fact, all you need to do is update it to the newer version 23H2 or 24H2, which is currently being made available to other users. They are still fully supported by Microsoft.
