Crucial is expanding its SSD. It’s supposed to be cheap

Americans are expanding their budget PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD offering. This is a well-known solution in a larger, more convenient and more popular format.

In July this year, semiconductor media debuted on the market Crucial P310. We are talking about a small solution in the M.2 2230 standard, which is dedicated to portable consoles such as Valve Steam Deck, ASUS ROG Ally and others. It enjoys great popularity due to its good performance and price.

The “large” Crucial P310 starts at around PLN 195

The Americans decided to use this and today they presented new variant. The Crucial P310 is now also available in a classic format M.2 2280used in desktop computers, consoles from the series Sony PlayStation 5 and laptops.

The specification remains unchanged. This means the interface PCI Express 4.0 x4 and protocol NVMe 2.0 and the controller Phison E27T and 232-layer memories 3D QLC NAND by Micron. Declared performance reaches up to 7100 MB/s for reading and up to 6000 MB/s for sequential writing and up to 1,200,000 IOPS for random operations.

Prepared three capacity variants – 500 GB and 1 and 2 TB. The suggested prices are $50, $85 and $139 respectively. around 195, 329 and 539 PLNThe manufacturer provides 5 year warranty limited by the data write rate. The described SSD should hit Polish stores in the coming weeks.

Crucial also plans to release a version with a factory, low-profile radiator. It should be perfect for PlayStation 5 and small and hot cases. No details were revealed, though.
