We are used to instant messaging being free. We don’t have to pay to use Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram or Viber. However, they have to earn money somehow. Meta came up with the idea to introduce a subscription. This will appear on WhatsApp.
WhatsApp Plus subscription
Don’t worry, WhatsApp is still going to be free. The subscription will only be available to those interested in additional functions and possibilities. And there are going to be a lot of them, although they are not particularly sophisticated.
WhatsApp Plus will allow you, among other things, to change the application icon, change the theme or the main colors displayed in the application. Additionally, users will be able to pin up to 20 chats, not just 3 as in the free version. An exclusive ringtone only for subscribers will also be available.
These are changes that are already available in the application code. It cannot be ruled out that ultimately there will be many more of them. It is also likely that over time, WhatsApp will add more functions and possibilities for Plus owners.
At the moment, it is not known when WhatsApp Plus will be made available and how much it will cost. Looking at the list of improvements, I wouldn’t expect a high price.
