Vivo changes its strategy with the X500 series. There will be different processors
No more identical layouts in the series
The previous generation of the Chinese manufacturer’s flagship devices debuted on the market in October 2025. The Vivo X300 and Vivo X300 Pro models used exactly the same system. It was MediaTek Dimensity 9500. The use of one processor in the entire series gave a clear signal. The basic and more expensive versions of the smartphone offered buyers almost identical performance and speed in applications.
Customers purchasing the cheaper model did not lose any computing power. The differences between the phones came down to other pieces of equipment. These were usually the size of the display and camera parameters. This approach guaranteed an equal level of speed across the top-shelf range and equalized the opportunities for both models on the market.
The latest information suggests a different approach for the upcoming Vivo X500 series. This time, the manufacturer intends to diversify its equipment in terms of the performance it offers. The latest models will feature two completely different processors. This step is intended to clearly separate the cheaper standard version from the more expensive Pro variant.
Two new MediaTek Dimensity chips
The basic Vivo X500 model will receive the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 chip. The more expensive variant, Vivo X500 Pro, will be powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. Both of these systems share the same architecture. They also use most of the same technical solutions in their overall structure.
The differences will come down to technical details. The Pro version will provide higher clock speeds for the processor cores. Higher clocks directly translate into support for mobile games. The more expensive variant should perform better in graphics tests. The base model will be slower under maximum load. However, an ordinary user may not feel this when performing typical, simple tasks.
Very capacious battery in the phone
Changes in processors are not the only novelty in upcoming devices. The leaks also suggest major modifications to the power supply itself. Vivo X500 series smartphones are to be equipped with 7000 mAh batteries. This is a very large set of cells by the standards of today’s mobile phones.
A battery with such a large capacity should extend the device’s operating time on a single charge. The only question remains whether these smartphones with a 7,000 mAh battery will also be available in Europe and Poland. In the case of the Vivo X300 series, we had to settle for a smaller capacity than, for example, in China.
