Fractal proves once again that a computer set can be a home decoration. This time we get a designer case with much better temperatures.
During the June fair Computex 2024 in Taiwan, computer equipment manufacturers from all over the world were showing off their new products for the coming months. Among them was the Swedish Fractalknown mainly for premium class cases, but not only – power supplies, cooling, fans.
Quality and originality have their price, and the price is not low
The Swedes then announced the expansion of their portfolio with a headset and an ergonomic chair, as well as a fabric casing. Fractal Moodreminiscent of the Xbox Series X consoles and a small and improved version of the well-known design of 2020, i.e. Fractal Era 2.
Fractal Era 2 is a case measuring 314 x 165 x 366 (H x W x D) millimeters and weighing 4.6 kilograms. It is made of aluminum and wood. The interior will accommodate motherboards Mini ITXgraphics cards up to 326 millimeters long, CPU coolers up to 70 millimeters high, and SFX or SFX-L power supplies. Although we won’t be able to mount standard 3.5″ drives here, there are four 2.5″ places.
The manufacturer has significantly redesigned the construction, significantly improving air circulation. Now we have access to numerous ventilation holes at the bottom, top and sides. In total, we can mount up to four 140/120 mm fansof which two smaller ones stand out in the set. Fans of liquid cooling must limit themselves to radiators with a length of 280 millimeters.
The I/O panel is located at the front, at the bottom edge. It houses one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, an audio connector, and the Power button.
Fractal Era 2 goes on sale today three color versions – black, blue and silver. The suggested price is 199 dollars, which in Poland should mean about 939 zlotys.
