The Ministry of Climate and Environment announced that the chief geologist has accepted the plan of the state geological service. It assumes, among other things, searching for hydrogen deposits.

The country’s chief geologist, Prof. Krzysztof Galos, accepted the work plan of the state geological service, which is to be implemented in 2025 and subsequent years. It involves, among other things, the search for raw materials of strategic importance for the national economy and the European Union.

The government will search the ground

The plan of the Ministry of Climate and Environment includes, among other things, further detailed exploration of the deposit potential of, among others, cobalt, nickel and magnesite of the Przerzeczyn Zdrój magnetic anomaly, confirmed by drilling Przerzeczyn PIG-1 and Przerzeczyn PIG-2.

Nickel and cobalt are on the list of strategic raw materials for the national economy and the European Union.

In addition, the government wants to search for natural deposits of hydrogen, which is one of the cleaner energy resources. Thanks to this, it can contribute to achieving climate goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

In the current geopolitical situation, it is extremely important to ensure the country’s raw material and energy security. The implementation of the tasks of the state geological service, included in the work plan, will contribute to the economic development of Poland, increase the comfort of life of the inhabitants of our country and ensure the energy and raw material security of the country

– said the country’s chief geologist, Prof. Krzysztof Galos.
