Steam Machine delayed. However, the premiere is still this year
Valve changed their mind about new devices. The updated post summarizing 2025 declared that all three planned products will be launched later this year. This is an important correction to an earlier statement that suggested much greater uncertainty regarding the release date.
Premiere this year, but no details
The original version of the entry suggested that the company only “hopes” for the introduction of new devices in 2026. In the new version, Valve emphasizes that despite problems with the availability of RAM modules and SSD media all three devices are expected to go on sale this year. At the same time, the manufacturer emphasizes that detailed information will be provided only after the final plans are finalized.
The case is of interest because the schedule has already been revised. When Valve announced its new devices in November 2025, i.e Steam Machine, Steam Frame and Steam Controllerthe company indicated the beginning of 2026. In February, an update appeared in which the goal of introducing the equipment in the first half of 2026 was maintained, but at the same time it was admitted that memory and disk shortages make it difficult to determine final prices and the exact release date.
At the same time, there is activity around the hardware pages on Steam. The store still has device announcements marked as “Coming soon”. However, looking at the edition history, you can see fresh updates related to Steam Machine and Steam Frame from March 6. They do not reveal the price or release date yetbut they suggest that Valve is constantly editing subpages.
However, the broader context remains unchanged. Memory and disk shortages have already affected the availability of the Steam Deck. However, the tone of the company’s communication has changed. Instead of suggesting uncertainty about the release of new devices, Valve emphasizes that we will see the devices this year.
