Santander turns into Erste

The bank ensures on its official Facebook profile and website that the functions that customers use on a daily basis remain unchanged. But this does not mean that the bank does nothing.

The institution assures that at the same time, it is constantly working on new solutions that will make using the application even more convenient.

What will remain unchanged?

  • The account numbers will remain the sameso far.
  • The agreements will remain in force – cooperation with clients will continue under the old rules.
  • Customers will still be able to use the bank’s mobile application and online banking.
  • They will still be available in the banking app – BLIK and other functions.
  • The following will remain unchanged: transaction historyfavorite recipients and standing orders. If this is the client’s request.
  • There is no need to replace the card – the current one will continue to work.
  • The bank’s advisors – experts and bankers for business and corporate clients – will still be available.

The bank will continue to operate under a Polish banking license and will be supervised by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority. Santander ensures that it is guaranteed by the Bank Guarantee Fund and pays taxes in Poland.

For those who are not entirely familiar with the topic, the Austrian Erste Group is the bank’s new shareholder. It is a financial giant, well-known in Central and Eastern Europe, which has clear development plans and knows exactly what it is doing. The value of the mentioned transaction is significant 7 billion euros, which proves that Erste’s entry into our domestic market is a serious matter.
