Poles are crazy about BLIK. Only in the first half of 2024, we performed as many as 1.1 billion operations with a total value of PLN 157.8 billion. This gives an average of 6.1 million transactions per day. However, this weekend this value will definitely drop because the mobile payments beloved by Poles will not be available.
BLIK announces a break in operations
VeloBank announced that BLIK mobile payments will not work on the night of October 12-13. The break is scheduled to last from 11 p.m. on Saturday to 5 a.m. on Sunday. During this time, service work will be carried out. The thing is that the announcement applies not only to VeloBank customers.
In the bank’s announcement, we can read that the service work will be carried out by BLIK itself. Therefore, the mobile payment system will not be available in any bank that supports it. This means that the break applies to PKO BP, Pekao, ING and Santander customers alike.
On the night of October 12-13, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., planned service works will be carried out by BLIK. During this time, it will not be possible to use all BLIK services in any bank. The service will be available outside the indicated hours. Thank you for your understanding. Welcome to banking.
