Cash is harder to come by in Poland. Even in the bank you will be treated with pleasure

Cash defenders will not be happy. There are more bank branches in Poland that do not have a traditional cash register – reports cashless.pl. Therefore, you cannot withdraw money there.

At the end of December 2025, there were already 888 bank branches in Poland where cash withdrawals were not possible. (except ATMs available there). This means that since October their number has increased by 2.9%. However, compared to the end of 2024, the number of such branches is as much as 5.7%. more.

BNP Paribas remains the leader here, with as many as 179 such branches. In second place are Credit Agricol and Millennium, which have 165 cashless branches each. ING Bank Śląski has slightly less, 150.

The greatest growth in this respect was recorded by PKO BP and Alior Bank. In the first and largest bank in Poland the number of branches without a traditional cash register increased quarter by quarter from 64 to as many as 79. In the case of Alior, we are talking about an increase from only 3 to 14 branches without cash.

At the same time, the number of ATMs in Poland is constantly decreasing, which is mainly due to the high costs of maintaining them. Moreover, older people are most attached to paper money. Young people practically only pay with cards, phones and smartwatches.
