“Cancel now” can be a trap. Avoid like the plague in this version
The fraudsters decided to set an even more precise trap for people using popular streaming services. What is the whole scam this time?
Users receive e-mails suggesting the need to urgently cancel their subscription. Most importantly, the message contains information that failure to respond may result in additional payments being deducted. Such e-mail usually looks professional and contains the case and report number, which serves to further authenticate the message. This message contains a “Cancel now” button that redirects you to a fake website that resembles a real website. After entering it, the user is asked to provide the e-mail address and password for the account, personal data and payment card (card number, expiration date and CVV code).
We must be aware that in fact this data goes straight into the hands of fraudsters.
