“For one to rule, the other must fall”

The plot is mainly a rivalry between two powerful personalities – Harold Goldwinson of Wessex and William the Conqueror (William of Normandy). The fates of both men intertwine in a dramatic fight for the coveted crown. The creators combined monumental fight scenes with intimate dramas of the characters. The series bluntly shows the brutality and intrigue that characterized the 11th century.

This is not Jaimie Lannister, but William the Conqueror

It is not for nothing that an analogy with the cult “Game of Thrones” automatically comes to mind. In the role of Wilhelm in “The King and the Conqueror”, we will see the star of that series – Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who played the role of the memorable Jaimie Lannister. He will be accompanied by James Norton, known from the productions of “The Guinness House” and “Happy Valley”. He played the character of Harold.

The creator of the series is Michael Robert Johnson, whose name we may associate with Guy Ritchie’s film about Sherlock Holmes from 2009. (Soon we will also see a series showing the adventures of Guy Ritchie’s young Sherlock Holmes).

The series “King and Conqueror” has eight episodes. This time, Canal+ paid tribute to impatient viewers and decided to release two episodes every Monday. This way, the season finale will be waiting for us on March 16.
