Most Poles forget about this. Taxman: this is a big mistake
We’re going shopping. We either check out all the products ourselves at the self-service checkout, or a store employee does it for us at the traditional checkout. It doesn’t matter. We pay, scan the store’s application and leave, after all, we are in a hurry to get home. However, we forgot one thing, which according to the tax office may be a big mistake.
Remember your receipt from the store
Many of us do not think about taking a receipt for purchases with us. Every store is obliged to issue it. We are not obliged to take it with us, but according to the tax office it may be a big mistake. This is a breeding ground for fraudsters and an opportunity to use unfair practices.
The tax office recommends always taking your receipt from the store with you. If we do not do this, it may be used by fraudsters, among others, to cancel transactions or manipulate sales settlements. Taking it with you reduces possible abuse.
Also remember that a cash receipt is the easiest way to prove your purchases. It is true that we can do it differently, e.g. by showing account history or confirming card payments, but this requires additional activities and significantly lengthens the process. Therefore, taking a receipt is not only beneficial to us, but also makes life difficult for fraudsters.
