Opera GX comes to Linux. The requests have been answered

Opera GX is now available on Linux systems. The Norwegian company moved its main solutions to this platform. The software retains the options known from the Windows and macOS releases. This is in response to repeated messages from the community. Gamers and developers wrote about Linux support en masse on online forums.

PC gaming has long been associated with one dominant platform, but that’s changing. Linux version bypasses the collection of location and browsing history information. The browser ignores content from visited websites and data entered in form fields. Software includes optional VPN. This service does not keep activity logs, as proven by a Deloitte audit. Programmers from Norwegian and Polish branches create the browser in accordance with European GDPR privacy standards.

The new version works with many distributions. Supports systems built on Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora and OpenSUSE. Installation is done by standard .deb and .rpm packages. Work on format support is also underway Flatpack.

The browser is supposed to receive updates every week. The creators intend to base further development on comments reported by the bug system, discussion forums and Discord communicator.
