It’s getting worse. Prices will increase by up to 30%.
For several months, the prices of DRAM and NAND memory have been increasing, and therefore the prices of laptops, computers and graphics cards. Unfortunately, this trend will not stop soon. MSI is another company that announces large price increases.
Increase in prices of equipment for players
During a conference with investors, Huang Jinqing, the head of MSI, announced large price increases for gaming laptops and graphics cards. This is due to large shortages, mainly related to RAM, the prices of which are currently absurd. For this reason alone, the company predicts that in 2026 the market will shrink by up to 20%.
Therefore, MSI is forced to increase prices for gaming equipment. The company’s head announced that these will increase by as much as 15-30%. This applies to laptops, desktop computers, consoles and graphics cards.
Reports indicate that MSI currently has approximately 1-2 months of DRAM stock in production. This means that in a moment the company will have to fight with competitors for further deliveries. This means price gouging and even higher prices.
The situation is made worse by the fact that the largest manufacturers – Samsung and SK Hynix – are currently not willing to sign long-term memory supply contracts. Huang Jinqing also announced that MSI intends to focus on high-end models, giving less priority to cheaper models.
