mObywatel with an important news. More than 1.8 million people will benefit
This is made possible by the ePayments function in mObywatel. As such, it is not new, because the first cities joined the system in 2023. So far, however, Warsaw has not been among them, which can be explained to some extent by the complexity and size of the capital’s official machine. Now, however, thanks to the ePłatności service, Warsaw residents can quickly and safely pay taxes and other fees – without visiting the office.
The addition of Warsaw expands access to the service for over 1.8 million residents of the capital. In Warsaw, you can pay at mObywatel:
As the Ministry of Digitization points out, the catalog of liabilities available for payment in the application may be gradually expanded. Local governments can add further receivables to the system, thanks to which residents will be able to deal with more and more matters online.
For example, in February, a dog fee was added to ePayments, implemented in the first 13 municipalities. Previously introduced include: fee for municipal waste management, land rental fees, fee for perpetual usufruct of land, etc. In selected communes, there are even a dozen or so such fees that can be paid via ePayments. Available payment methods include BLIK, payment card, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and payment history is available in the application.
ePayments has been developing dynamically throughout Poland for almost three years. The service pilot started in May 2023, and the more extensive infertility system in the application was implemented from December. Currently, it is used by 194 offices, which means access to the solution for approximately 10 million inhabitants. According to the Ministry of Digital Affairs, 762,465 payments with a total value of over PLN 70.5 million have been made so far.
To use ePayments, all you need is a trusted profile or e-ID, i.e. an ID card with an electronic layer. When the office issues a new financial obligation, the user will receive information about the pending payment in the mObywatel application.
