GPS in Poland will be accurate down to the centimeter

Centimeter accuracy instead of several meters

The standard GPS signal offers an error of 5 to 15 meters. In the case of autonomous machines, such a difference is too large and may lead to dangerous situations. The cooperation between Point One and Cellnex (they have Play and Plus towers in Poland) is aimed at: implementation of Real-Time Kinematic technology (RTK), which corrects satellite errors in real time.

Thanks to Cellnex’s infrastructure, the network of Point One correction stations will be quickly expanded. The system will be available in six countries including in PolandItaly and Sweden. This will allow for safe movement of robots and drones even in dense urban areas.

Application in agriculture and urban logistics

The new technology will be used in many sectors of the economy. In agriculture it will enable precise sowing and fertilization of fields by autonomous tractors. This will reduce the use of chemicals and increase the efficiency of European farms.

System in cities will support drones and delivery robots in navigating under bridges or between tall buildings. Traditional GPS often loses signal there or gives incorrect data. Combining satellite information with vehicle sensors is intended to eliminate these difficulties and ensure safety.

Precise positioning will also be useful in construction. Automated grading systems allow construction equipment perfectly level the foundations without the involvement of human surveyors, increasing efficiency and precision on construction sites across Europe.

Presentation of solutions at MWC 2026

The partnership of both companies will be officially announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (March 2-5). Point One and Cellnex will show there how the telecommunications infrastructure is changing to support automatic systems. Modern base stations are no longer used solely for transmitting Internet data.

Point One and Cellnex plan for their network to become foundation for the development of a robot-based economy. This solution is to be crucial for the mass production of autonomous cars and improving the stability of drone flights. The new infrastructure layer is expected to be as important as fiber optic networks in the past.
