The main distinguishing feature of this model is Cerakote coating. That’s advanced ceramic-polymer protective layerwhich Garmin applies to the titanium watch frame by spraying and then firing at high temperature. Cerakote provides exceptional resistance to abrasion, corrosion and chemicals – key properties for equipment used in extreme field conditions and during military operations. Over time, the coating takes on a characteristic, worn appearance, making each watch unique. Two color variants are available: slate gray and olive drab (olive green).

The watch has dimensions 51 x 51 x 14.7 mmit is equipped with 1.4-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels, protected by a sapphire lens. The case is made of glass-reinforced polymer with a titanium back cover and a Cerakote-coated titanium bezel. Water resistance reaches 40 meters, which allows for scuba diving and freediving.

The watch allows you to project landmarks, offers a rucking activity profile with the ability to enter backpack weight, and includes an Applied Ballistics Ultralight ballistic calculator for long-range shooting calculations. There is also an AB Quantum mobile application available for managing profiles and goals. Stealth mode turns off all wireless signals while recording distance and biometrics without saving your GPS location.

Garmin tactix 8 uses Cerakote multi-band GPS with SatIQ technology and built-in sensors: 3-axis compass, gyroscope and barometric altimeter. Contains TopoActive maps loaded with terrain contours for multiple continents, CourseView maps for over 43,000 golf courses, and SkiView maps for over 2,000 ski resorts. The direct navigation feature allows you to navigate to points in the global aviation database, and weather reports include METAR, TAF and NEXRAD radar data.

Battery in smartwatch mode lasts up to 29 dayswhich significantly reduces the need for charging during long missions. In addition to tactical applications, the watch offers numerous sports functions: strength training plans tailored to specific disciplines, real-time endurance tracking and health monitoring – Body Battery, Pulse Ox and sleep detection including naps.
