AMD and NVIDIA raise prices. It will be cheaper with the Greens

Until recently, both NVIDIAWhat AMD assured that they would take on rising memory costs to keep card prices for players at an acceptable level. But now the situation is different. Both producers were to inform their partners about price increases. Because it is the Greens and Reds who supply GPU + DRAM sets to companies producing proprietary cards, partners have no real choice but to factor in higher costs into final prices.

It’s all because of the artificial intelligence craze

Interestingly, according to unofficial information the new memory rates announced by NVIDIA are still lower than those that AMD has communicated to its partners. In practice, this may mean that the increase in prices of Radeon RX 9000 will be more noticeable than in the case of GeForce RTX 5000. However, the final price depends on the manufacturers of proprietary versions, who decide how much to charge for specific models.

At the same time, it is emphasized that neither NVIDIA nor AMD is officially changing the MSRPi.e. suggested retail prices. This means that on paper everything remains the same, and the real increases only appear on store shelves.

It is also worth paying attention to the differences in the strategies of both companies. NVIDIA and its partners deny that any line of cards will receive preferential treatment. In turn, AMD is reportedly increasing deliveries of the more expensive Radeon RX 9070 XT, at the expense of cheaper models such as the RX 9070.

Taking into account the current madness on the RAM market, as well as the rising prices of SSDs, building a new computer set with “human money” will soon become virtually impossible. And it’s all because of the artificial intelligence craze and AI centers that are sucking DRAM and NAND out of the market.
