Microsoft has confirmed that users of Windows 11 23H2 who downloaded the latest January update may encounter an unusual problem. This makes it impossible to turn off the computer. Instead, the PC restarts every time.

According to Microsoft, the problem is the Secure Launch function, which is designed to protect the system boot process against various attacks.

After installing the January 13, 2026 Windows Security Update (KB5073455) for Windows 11 version 23H2, some Secure Launch computers cannot shut down or enter hibernation. Instead, the device starts.

There is currently no way to put your computer into hibernation mode. However, it can be turned off. To do this, you need to run the command line and enter the command:
